3.7 More Ceramics!

The second session was based in making insects and birds, one of the current themes since the beginning of the project.
Students learnt new techniques such as joining pinch pots to produce larger pieces and looked at the processes of making and firing ceramic works.

The beautiful array of birds and insects were painted using ceramic underglazes and they got fired at 1000 degrees Centigrade in an electric kiln.

The works will be then glazed with a transparent layer to protect them and fired at 1240 degrees Centigrade.
